Why do we want our students to read?
Having a regular habit of reading away from school brings many learning benefits. Current studies show that people who read regularly:
- have broader vocabularies
- spell and punctuate more accurately
- have improved comprehension of all types of texts
- more clearly express their own ideas in writing
- know more about the world, including different times, places and cultures
- have better general knowledge
